it's Buddhist monk's 木鐸. I don't remember what it is called romanized, but it's essentially wooden drum that is hit during scripture reading during practice.

Byakuren's brother being Buddhist monk, she would probably be one also.

They're same thing; wooden fish is put on the ground and played. Wooden drum is portable.
