Since Olde Japanese seems to generally get rendered into Olde English, a simple "thank you" with a translation note feels lacking in flavor.

Could I turn that into "many thanks" for the feel of it?

Technically Shakespearean/Early Modern English since Old English is mostly incomprehensible to most people (it looks more runic at times). And Middle English is weird at times but easily comprehensible with 2 months of Chaucer twice a week.

When I say "olde" with an E, I mean "trying to sound old-fashioned." Bad communication on my part there.

Thank you. She is using the old samurai way of saying thank you
