And I caught another one before translation.

Also, that laptop doesn't look very healthy.

Mine broke once too. But the funny thing is, it's not because of external impact but because the screen is rigged. It had a bump inside, how's that supposed to happen?
Of course, the guy who sold it to me didn't believe it.

Also, seems like they met Mystia on the way...

The Yuyu-sama person's files were packed full of lists of delicious things. Her* schedule was packed full too, so I figured she's* a busy person.

At any rate, we visited all over the place and ended up having a good time entering Shikoku. Nothing really happened en route to make for good gag material, just the usual stuff, so I've reluctantly omitted it. :-)

*No actual pronoun used; I just defaulted to how the person's depicted, regardless of RL gender.

Reader-added tags include "Ghost on the verge of death", "Youmu>>>> Meals>>>>Yuyuko", and "Notice of Mysty's termination".

    The survey's a bit panicky:

What do we do when this happens? What do we do?
    • Buy a new one
    • Send it out for repairs immediately
    • Buy a junk PC to cannibalize
    • Give up and do your best with it as-is
    • Escape from reality by doing something else

Since she's the one making the meals, that makes the cook the boss.

Hmm, I thought 形あるもの was just a general phrase.
It reminds me of a famous buddhism philosophy.
It is usually written as 形あるものいつかは滅びる or something like that and it means that things with shape (in other words, every substance in the world) will be ruined someday. So nothing is immortal. Probably googling 諸行無常 would help.
Is there any evidence that it is the song?

How appropriate: my laptop's HDD failed just today, out of the blue. While normally I'd attempt a repair, this is way beyond me, as is a physically damaged LCD, so I'd just get the warranty out and have it repaired in-shop ASAP. I might get it right the first time, but I might not, and that would be a pretty costly mistake to make...

Which would still make Youmu the boss.

Word of advice: tell the service beforehand that you want your data back intact. If the cause of failure are "simple" bad blocks, the most common treatment is full low-level erase. Nothing to worry about if it's controller/electronics failure, tho.

Ick, must have been one hard surface to do that (I've dropped a laptop before and nothing happened to it). Think up a good excuse, Yuyuko-sama, you have to protect your right to eat!

For the poll, I would try to escape to reality doing something else, but since that usually involves using the computer... I'd probably just faint from shock.

No, it just happened to be the most frequently encountered usage of the phrase 形あるもの when I looked it up. So much for culture. :-) Thanks for the info.

Well, I guess this warrants an "Oh crap" from any laptop users, no matter how tech-savvy you are. Thankfully, mine is still fully functional since I bought it in 2004. Only had it sent to the shop once to get the LCD repaired - just before its 2-year warranty was up. That was lucky.

As for the poll... If it's LCD damage like this, the customer service center is the place to go. They'll have it fixed in no time*.

*[Disclaimer: "In no time" is a matter of speech. Depending on your location, handler and laptop condition, it could take anywhere from one week to 3 months. Good services sold separately.]

For the poll and a computer technician, I'll pass it on the one with the new parts. I only appreciate salvaging in desktop PCs.

I removed the drive and took it to a specialized data recovery company. Before doing that, I tried putting it into a known-to-be-working USB interface, and when it refused to talk to another computer, I figured it was way over my head, so I called for professional help.

Oh, ok then, those guys should know what they are doing. Except AFAIK it is going to cost quite a bit...

Speaking of which, spare LCD matrix for laptops costs about $100~150. All that really matters is if you're skilled enough to replace it and if you know places where to buy it :3

Also, "lap_pillow"? Probably a mistake, removing the tag.

I accidentally broke my laptop screen last weekend. Luckily I know how to replace it, but a new screen is going to set me back around $175.
