as often with children when something is out of their reach they try to obtain it by force and when they've broken it and realize things can't be put back to normal they break down and cry. i read this in a touhou comic and felt that it fits here.
I don't know why, but I do kinda imagine that cat was Orin, and that Satori has been looking for her, specially since she’s thought that she may be at Reimu's, but she wasn’t there, soo she asked her to also search Orin too, meanwhile, Orin was at the sdm, until she saw the basement and went there just out of curiosity... and she found there a vampire named Flan, and they played a lot, until a fateful accident happened that costed Orin her entire life...
