I wonder will there be a cute pink demon tagging along with Kogasa for that guided tour?

Wait, ticket only cost around 30.000 for round trip? Is it that expensive to ride on train? O_O

And thus, the Comic Treasure 21 story starts today. The beginning starts off just like for Kōrōmu, but that's actually how it was, so I can't help it. :-)

Osaka sure is great! Full of tasty, inexpensive food!

Since I didn't have as much luggage as for Kōrōmu, I figured I'd go by bullet train, but the cost was a sticking point. The cheapness of the tour surprised me. (^^;)

Reader-added tags include "That person's bad news...don't do it!", "Lateness flag received", and "Be honest with yourself, Kogasa-san".

    The survey's making travel plans:

Where in Osaka should we go?!
    • Dotombori
    • Tsūtenkaku
    • Nipponbashi
    • Expo Commemorative Park
    • Universal Studios Japan

Actually, on Feb 1, 2013; the exchange rate for JPY to USD is 92.75JPY to 1USD...so it's 325.19USD for a round trip ticket.

Time for a new adventure with Kogasa-san! I wonder what fun everyone will get into on this trip? And we get to see Yamame-san again. Hopefully Ran-san and Yuyuko-sama will be there, too.

For the poll, let's go to Nipponbashi, and get some collectibles.

To go... 314 miles? That's not even the length of the Florida coast.
It costs about $200 for a round-trip from Miami to NYC by conventional train. Granted, it takes a day and a half...

Bullet Trains cost more I guess, for some reason.
I guess it's the fact that Conventional Trains go 50-70MPH where bullet trains can hit 300mph...
(Of course, I could be sorely mistaken, I've only rode conventional trains before [about 10 years ago], so I haven't paid attention)

I poked around a bit out of curiosity: Tokyo-Osaka travel time via Shinkansen is a little over two and a half hours.

Flying is quicker counting flight time alone, and can be cheaper in the off season (though not most of the time), but it's a lot less convenient. It can take quite a long time to get to the airports (plus check-in time and so on), and the schedule is much less frequent.

Air travel you'd usually plan in advance, whereas on the major rail routes (and Tokyo-Osaka is one of the biggest), you can basically turn up and buy a ticket, and there'll be a train leaving within the next ten to twenty minutes.

Wow, the dollar is really recovering.

Or the yen is floundering, I guess.

Treasure? Where are they holding it?
    The end of 2012.
    In Osaka, o' course!!
    Osaka!?
Well, I don't know about Osaka...the bullet train alone is ¥30,000 for a round trip!
Heh - heh - heh! If ya call it a tour an' stay one night at a hotel, it's only ¥20,000!
You comin' to Comic Treasure, there, Mizz Kogasa?
We all split it for the trip to Kōrōmu, but...
An' the day before, Ah'm doin' an "Eat 'til Ya Drop" guided tour!!
    I'm there!!
