The size of the torso relative to the legs is completely dependent to the head size proportions. Like I said the crotch is always at half the height so when the head size proportion gets scaled up the torso is reduced in order to accommodate it, is it really that hard to understand? The reason why you think it should be 3/4 the lenght of legs is because you're used to thinking the classical 8 heads proportions. But most people don't really understand where those proportions are derived from, so when they deal with more dynamic head proportions they get blabbery.
Remember: Halfway from the pit of the neck to the crotch is the end of the rib cage, and half that distance down is the start of the pelvis. This proportion system is much more dynamic, adaptable and much more natural & easier to use than the 8 heads proportion system. This applies to all people of all height and all head proportions. Of course there will be slight variations.
