It's pretty common for thieves (post #863097), not really sure of its origin though.

Turns out we even have a tag for that swirly design, it's karakusa_(pattern) (thanks S1eth).

I looked through thief sack and thief bag hoping to find the origin, but I found only post #863097, so I copied the tag for the pattern from that post over. The pattern in this image is quite butchered, but I guess it counts.

For Komachi this is unpaid overtime.

Google wasn't of much help either (guess the origins are to be searched in Japanese section, which is impossible for me). Tvtropes mentioned Happosai from Ranma, though - indeed, there were some pictures where he has karakusa-bag here on danbooru. I just wonder how do we make that tag, uh, findable - I had zero idea how is that thing called.

Also, lol, panda panties. Just like your regular Kuma panties, but black and white!

Oh happy day! I've been looking for the name of this pattern ever since playing Ace Attorney Investigations a few years ago.
