This is big pet peeve of mine, because I see even experienced artists still not able to draw a bra or bikini top in proper perspective.

Instead of using the cleavage as a guideline (a common mistake), I suggest using the nipple as a good way to establish symmetry in perspective.
This is less of an issue with smaller chests because their plane is closer to the front surface of the torso, but larger breasts often fall victim to these sorts of oversights.

I can barely make out any difference between 1 and 2 and don't know why 3 is so bad as it's made out to be

The explanation: in picture 1, undercompensated perspective, the bikini position on the right boob (left side of the picture) is slightly incorrect; it should be more lateral, given the boob's position is about 30-45 degrees compared to the next boob. That's why it's saying 'do not use cleavage as guideline' because the cleavage does not stand in perfect 90 degrees line to the front in that position. Picture 2 was the opposite, it makes the bikini drawn too far to the left, thus implying from the bikini drawn on the right side (left boob) that the breasts are spread far apart. That's why it has 'forcing perspective' note on it. The third one is just lazy af drawing that doesn't care about symmetry of the bikini's left and right side design.

I couldn't tell what was wrong until I read the commentary, which means I'm less dissolute than I thought after all my time here.
