That's messed up man, I feel bad for this guy, while I'll go so far as saying I can understand the judges criteria, as they said "This isn't a art contest." this guy did a hella awesome job and I don't think even artgerm could have done this concept much more justice outside of making it 100% his own style. That said, the core concept of a Spider-Woman has been done to death from Arachnid-Humanoid Women, to Costume Women with the name, to a combination of both and then some, just check out marvels staple of Spider-Women, and Dark Souls ever popular one, Drow who have been cursed by Lolth and so on.
