I don't think it's so much as a pairing rather than a motherly-daughterly picture. There's an amazing amount of stuff for the Myouren Temple with Byakuren (and very rarely Ichirin, and then sometimes Mamizou as a more grandmotherly type) as the mother-type and any of Nazrin, Nue, Kyouko and Kogasa (and even Murasa occasionally) as the daughter.
