Sorry about the rough quality, think it compressed wrong. I could try to upload a cleaner version later.

Starting to think the entire series is an experiment on how much fanservice can be fit into an anime and still be good.

Not really, while I do agree that oversaturated fanservices are stupid and annoying, there are instances that fanservices popping up from time to time can be good, like having a bath scene once in every 8 eps for instance. Or in many cases for me, simply having voluptuous female chars who wears modest costume that shows some curves but gets no sexualizations further than that is a decent enough fanservice.

I have many friends(both male and female) who stopped watching Kill la Kill at one point or another because they can't take the fanservices(either right from the 1st episode, from Junketsu's first Life Fiber Override, or from the Satsuki-Ragyou bath scene). I myself was always 'meh' with all the fanservices Kill la Kill dishes out so far since I'm just watching it for the plot and all the hamminess.

Wait, you mean people are actually taking Kill a Kill seriously? I see it as another Panty and Stocking with Garterbelt. The fanservice is so tame compared to every harem series I've ever watched.

It's too absurd in every way imaginable to take seriously, which is why I like it. There is a huge amount of fanservice in pretty much every episode but with all the madness that's going on it easily blends in and you kinda forget about it.

Am I the only one here who actually takes Kill la Kill seriously? In the same sense that I took Gurren Lagann seriously, it's so over the top and ridiculous that it becomes awesome; yet at the same time it builds up it's characters, story, and all of it's subtle buildups in relationships to plot well enough to to the point where you really do care about them, and eventually the "absurd" moments actually become emotionally charged and riveting.

I will say honestly that Ragyo is one of the villains that quite honestly gets me so brimming with HATE and RAGE that it takes over everything else, that almost NEVER happens with me. And it's all because of her despicable nature towards the cast of characters that I've honestly grown to love and care for.

So yeah, I DO take Kill la Kill seriously. I love it's story, I love it's characters, and I love it's over the top in your face "I will pierce the heavens" attitude; and have no shame in admitting that it is (in my opinion) one of the best animes to come around in a long time.

    You are not alone.
Also, I think anything dealing with Ragyo and Nui are suppose to be titilating. I actually felt disgusted on the opening. But of course, people do have different taste.

I do take Kill la Kill rather seriously. Is it good that even the humor, the campiness, the fanservices, the hamminess and the over the top ridiculousness have a plot-based reason for being there? Of course it does, it's a good writing not many writers can pull off, especially in this age of brainless fanservices and ripoff cliched anime plots.

Do I like it? Yes. Is Nakashima Kazuki a talented writer? Yes. Does it deserve its popularity? Yes. But is it the definitive best anime of either 2013 or 14? I won't say it is, even if I don't have any 2013-14 anime I can definitively say is better so far.

There's quite a handful of people I know who just noticed that. Seriously, it makes shows like Sengoku Basara more ironic because barely anyone took that seriously, and it's the same absurd, high-octane action series on acid as KlK is.

After having witnessed Sakura Trick win yuri makeout scenes for life in just one episode, this scene didn't really do anything for me.

Funny thing is, later that episode, Ryuuko penetrated... and impaled... Nui.
