The only characters that should look "asian" would be Reimu, Sanae and the human villagers. Youkai are youkai and we've gotten a good number of characters from the western part of the world(looks at SDM).

Still, since Zun litteraly named his work "eastern project", It would be nice to see other eastern religions, and cultures in thouhou. Something like Hinduism, or Islam. Something to make the cast a little more varied. Also, I wonder if Zun is going to put some dark skin characters in his game? Seems like the right time, looking at how the game has a fairly good ammount of fans from the middle east(not me of course, but I have talked to some people). Anyway, I would like to see where this project goes, if Zun decides to add a little more vareity to Touhou.

It's true that it does need more diversity. It would make the project much more refreshing, and varied. Plus it will add new perspectives on the characters, and the world itself. The series itself is actually capable of sparking interesting debates, amongst western fans, and adding differnt cultures to the series might make debates even more interesting. Although I don't openly push for it, and i understand if Zun dosen't want to push fore it. Sitll, it would be nice to see Hinduism in Touhou. It's another eastern religion.
