I noticed that Nui doesn't have an eyepatch here. Also, according to the artist's commentary, it sounds like this is a postulation on what this would have been like if Life Fibers didn't exist... Which doesn't explain the presences of Senketsu and Junketsu, really.

I think what Gollgagh is getting at is that in the context of Kill La Kill, mankind did not make clothing; it was clothing (Life Fibers) that made mankind. Without Life Fibers to instigate their evolution, mankind would still be naked apes living in caves. We literally owe the clothes on our back to Life Fibers. At least, that's what I assume Gollgagh is getting at.

Not quite. In Kill la Kill, we owe our accelerated evolution to the Life Fibers.
