I have a little note, 喜怒哀楽(ki-do-ai-raku) is a term that indicate 4 major human's emotion, happiness, anger, sadness and enjoying life. I'm not sure about how correct the last can be, I'm not very sure which words or term could be used to indicate it in English, can be understand as the feeling "high" from using drugs but more generally, can also has bad meaning sometimes. So, it is common to interpret it as "emotions" in general.

If the language has the similar term, Kagerou'd line should be "Shiranui's *the term* is pretty intense/powerful".

Oh, and Shiranui is not wearing her shorts. Nice change and those ears and tail. Kouji sure knows his stuff.

Edit, checked with a dictionary, the 4 emotions are joy, anger, pathos and humor.

Also the 2nd speech bubble with Kuroshio, the english translation is kinda hard to understand.
Shouldn't it be something like "It was hard to believe when I first heard it..." since it's a pretty confusing sentence as it is right now.

In actuality, those 2 bubbles has only one sentence, with the first one is a quote, the second one is saying what the speaker thinks about it. It's just that Japaneses like cutting their sentences in half making translation become harder. Well, to those who wants to stay close to their culture and speech pattern like me at least.

It'd be the same in English, anyway. A quote in one panel, particularly since it was spoken by a different person, followed by a reaction shot in the next is very common in comics.

Oh, and the use of 喜怒哀楽 over other words that can convey emotions is probably to emphasise the type of emotions, as these 4 can be considered the 'base' emotions for humans; i.e. Shiranui is, contrary to expectations, able to express normal human emotions. Using something with 感 or 情 doesn't convey this meaning, just that she is capable of having emotions, or here, that she can have strong feelings - just not really indicating the breadth or type, which 喜怒哀楽 provides to a reader. It's not quite the easy one to translate nicely, without whacking 'human' on the front of it. You'd probably weave it into other parts of the text to indicate the humanness of the emotion.

Nobody really uses the terms pathos and humor (in this sense of humor, it's not the 'That's funny' humor, it's the good-humored humor) outside of literary (and film and such) analysis. I've normally seen 楽 translated to something indicating that the person feeling it is 'at ease', or 'carefree' (as in 極楽), c.f. 喜.
