Considering that in chess it is essential to think several moves ahead, you are most likely correct.

We did just lose. Satori's last move had to have been Nb6++, putting the black King (d7) into checkmate from both that Knight and the white Rook (d1). The black King also can't move because the white Queen (e5) is blocking the adjacent squares. That black Rook [we're] holding can't do anything.

While im sure defeat is inevitable, there is a move there to prevent that particular 'checkmate' there. the queen has a clean move to the knight, which is the one causing the check. while it doesnt delay it MUCH.... that board there is not a 'checkmate'. on another note, saying that the black rook cant do anything is neither true nor false, because we dont know where it WAS on the board. Of course, theres also the possibility that the rook and knight that [we're] holding are pieces that weve lost, but theres no way to know.
edit: oops, i missed the white rook there, so pretty much my whole comment just got invalidated. XD thats what i get for commenting not even an hour after waking up.
