To be very honest, I really find Mutsu strong in this chapter. It is incredibly hard for her to be in a position like that, and despite thinking she can't do anything, she still try. I honestly hope that the author will give to her a way to be happier. This whole plot is quite overdramatical for a pure yuri fiction but it is chapter like this, who really focus on building and helping to understanding the character, that help to like character like Nagato, Zuikaku or, here, Mutsu.
These lyrics were hinting of an undisclosed mistress and not an openly known lover. I felt that it fits Mutsu in the main story, so I named the title of this side story with the name of the song. Even though in this series Mutsu and Nagato are the real lovers while Houshou is the mistress, the one who intruded on the relationship was actually Mutsu, and she did it with unwillingness. The setting of the ship girls dictated who they love or care, so that can't be helped.
After all, it's pretty much the same in the game too; baseless love or care for the admiral, what the hell is with that...
Also, this story happened between the 1st and 2nd part and during the last part of the whole story.
