If you had to put up with Kaga and Zuikaku's constant bickering while in the same fleet, you'd be pretty -_- about her too.
One of the things I really liked about the anime was the support of Akagi's character. There's a reason she's the head of the carrier fleet and it shines through during her interaction with Fubuki. Gentle, wise, skilled, firm, serene; from playing with bubble wrap in the bath to her hardcore test for Fubuki to become her escort. Akagi really came alive in the series.
