    The saddest thing is that this could double as the commentary on where the japanese people have gone since WW2: From proud, noble (to an decreasing degree) warriors, to doormats/weaklings.

    Imho the Japanese warrior culture had pretty much died out somewhere in between the 265 years of Tokugawa rule. An extended period of peace where "warriors" didn't have much chance to experience real warfare created a group of wannabes with unrealistic expectations on how to deal with the real thing.

    Yeah, because other countries practicing the same type of machismo didn't engage in horrible acts of brutality too right? /s

    It's really scary how people are looking up to regressive, primitive behavior as a sign of "manliness." We really are heading to the direction of the Planet of the Apes.
