I think I have been blackballed.

Before the unmarked van pulls up to my house and the Danbooru mafia takes me away for questioning never to be seen again, I want the world to know: Alice was my waifu.

Well, I guess there's the confirmation. Humourlessness is typical of autocracy, if I may use that word without sounding overly dramatic. No dissent allowed. No humour. The robot is planting the sign right now.

Instead of trying to silence me, I'd invite whoever keeps downvoting me to respond with a comment instead. Tell us what you are thinking.

Come on, don't be cowardly, don't hide behind a mask of anonymity, step up and be a man and have a dialogue with me.

    Alice is cute.

Also, you can just set your comment threshold to -100 if downvoting irks you so much.

I'm not bothered by my comments being downvoted, but I'd like to hear why no one is willing to own up to it publicly.

Does no one else have a problem with this?

You're taking this too personally. Also, being tough guy on the internet isn't going to help your cause either.
If you really want to fight the system, you're better off taking it to the forum where it would matter for discussions.

I never understand the point with upvotes and downvotes since upvotes you can't tell due to lack of any numbers and downvoting just piss people off despite it having little to no meaning and could be easily resolved by going to your account settings.

Bumping, spamming and asking out whomever will probably cause more downvotes and won't solve anything.

You're being downvoted in comments because you start off by being self-centered as if everything's being done to spite you along with making it clear that you either haven't read or didn't internalize howto:comment and its spirit followed by getting all "come at me bro" about it.

I wasn't aware that I was. I was just asking for some accountability.

How was anything I've said self-centered? What have I said that is even remotely like that? I abided by the howto:comment and I was polite. I was confrontational, and anyone who wants to can view that as being a 'tough guy', but I have not said anything inappropriate. If someone isn't going to return that politeness to me, I think I am well within my rights to be able to confront them as to why. I am also not sure how I am supposed to 'internalize' the spirit of the howto... I'd be curious to know what you mean by that as well.

As far as I know, moderators don't have any special powers when it comes to downvotes. If there was an organized attempt to censor you, your posts would just be deleted entirely.

The downvotes likely came because the comments were needlessly agressive, and looking through your comment history, the posts related to these images make up almost all of your downvotes.

I don't see what the first they came for poem refers to here since danbooru has been moving the opposite direction, relaxing the rules regarding certain kinds of content and trying to have more community feedback. This is not how a fear-based system like the Nazis operated works, so in order for this to be relevant there has to be an almost paranoid atmosphere.

As for the tough guy act, being belligerent and demanding that people state why it is that they are humorless and trying to suppress you isn't something that is within the rules.

Comments are for the image, issues between individual users can e taken to private messages and issues with anonymous persons should be let go, this isn't the venue for this kind of thing.

edit: also self-centered also refers to a person believing that everything that happens is being done to him, and that he is the focus of everyone's intentions.

I never said anything about the mods being the ones doing the downvoting. I was not needlessly or overly aggressive either, because if I had not raised a stink, whoever was downvoting would have succeeded in stopping a conversation from taking place, which is also why I posted a link to that poem.

I don't know why everyone seems to think I'm such a tough guy... it keeps being said over and over. All I did was stand up for myself when my comments were being downvoted within minutes of making them. But that is absolutely nonsense... if you're going to say that, then I could tell you that downvoting a person's comments repeatedly aren't within the rules either. And I don't know which individual users had the problem, hence why I've raised the issue here.

You don't need to answer for OOZ662 either. He's a big boy, he can speak for himself. As for what you've said, I'll still answer it: I don't see anyone else being addressed in this thread or downvoted besides myself. I don't enjoy being the center of attention, if that's the suggestion.

I already spoke for myself; dismissing what I said out of what must be either delusion or denial doesn't change that.

But, if you really want a breakdown of it, fine. I've got some time to spare.

    • Your first comment was snide and self-centered as if the entire moderation team was targeting your specific post to pick on out of the swath that get uploaded each day.
    • Your second comment, even if it includes the phrase "without sounding overly dramatic," was the definition of incredibly over-dramatic.
    • Your third and fourth comments were both directly confrontational over an extremely trivial matter that's completely your own creation.
    • The rest follow the same path of dramaticism and inciting confrontation, especially through pre-emptively belittling people that don't confront you (i.e. everyone is a "big boy" who needs to stand up for themselves).
    • Putting forth that you're the victim due to being the focus of discussion while both being the root cause of said discussion and directly asking people to make you the center of attention by "stepping up" to you.

There. Now you have a precise list of exactly why your comments were downvoted (or, as you put it, someone has "stepped up, been a man, and owned up to it," which is the epitome of politeness in your words). Whether you agree that such things are "wrong" or should be downvoted is your opinion and it obviously contrasts with the five people that have pushed the button so far; the definition of democracy which you consider autocracy.

There's no need to keep belittling and calling people out over it. The fact that your comments were downvoted should be all the feedback you need that the behavior within is not appreciated; you don't need to "stand up for yourself" in such a situation any more than you need to stand up against a librarian shushing you if you start screaming in a library.

I won't use the powers of moderation to silence you, but I would suggest you get over it all. This is just an art gallery, and if you find it worth your effort to go against the grain and cry "oppression by the masses" in what is essentially the lobby of said art gallery, then that's your prerogative. Just don't expect it to be well received by the public and don't be surprised if the owner of the establishment shoos you out the front door.

I did not dismiss it, I asked you a question. There's quite a difference there.

My first and second comments were humor. Usually, people with a sense of it recognize it and laugh. If you're reading things into it that aren't there, then that is your problem, not mine. For the rest, I've explained and I think demonstrated by this point as well why they were appropriate for the situation. Unfortunately, I don't have as much time on my hands as you do to rehash it. It is a trivial situation, true, but I did not create it, again for reasons that have already been discussed.

'Pre-emptively belitting'. There is a new one I haven't heard before. Again, matter of interpretation of the reader, and I don't recall naming any epitomes in my words. If you have a thin skin or are extremely sensitive, that is not my fault. Do me a favor though: don't tell me about being snide, and then tell me about how you are graciously sparing me, and then suggest that someone else is going to kick me out anyway.

Who would have guessed? /jp/ was right about Danbooru after all.

Say the rest to my back as you do what you enjoy together in a circle.

You came off as an ass. Maybe someone didn't like your brand of humor and decided to downvote it and didn't look back (Personal opinion : it's cringey as fuck). Ooz nailed the rest, and I do believe you're just a little too obsessive with this.

Don't let the door hit you.
