    Let's stop asking for too much

    I took one of those automated quizzes on Twitter and it got me to set up a poll, which ended up backfiring on me. My Kansai-ben is all over the place, but so is hers, so...yeah, right?

    The joke is that RJ said "omon na", and Kuroshio asks what that is (in the sense of "Speak Japanese, damnit!", so it seems a "RJ isn't really an Osakan" joke)... and I have the same question. I've never done Kansai-ben translations, and I'm just not getting any good sources for figuring that word out. (I can find it being said, and that "mon" is a contraction for "mono", but not in a source where I can find a solid to-English translation to be sure...) You'll just have to get Paracite to come back to this one.

    Had a go at the translation. Looking at the artist's description I'd figure that RJ is referring to the artist finding it hard to draw something interesting when that was the most popular option in the poll he set up.

    ハードル上げんといてくれます？ means ハードル上げないでください in standard Japanese.
    笑いを取る is to make others laugh.
    ビミョー(微妙)な means to an insufficient and unsatisfactory degree.
    おもんな is 面白くない in standard Japanese. I can't find any Japanese sources claiming it to mean something different in Osaka vs the rest of Kansai. The joke would be that Kuroshio intentionally responds coldly and disrespectfully to Ryuujou's spiel because she thinks Ryuujou is intentionally inviting such a response as part of a comedy act.

    I've altered the translation script to correct errors from these misunderstandings.
