What, you don't eat them whole? I did for crunchy reasons. But after reading that the shells contains chitosan that contributes in cholesterol absorbing AND in some areas, contain elevated heavy metal content I stopped doing that.

Well, depending on how they're fried/cooked, some of the bigger ones can be quite hard to chew.
