Ah, the joys of fetching stones over the riverbed...*goes into nostalgia mode*. I made some of the stones I collected when I'm young into beads and things; some of them are quartzine, smoky quartz and a particular one turned to be rough garnet. Made that one into brooch.

All I got was a bunch of iron pyrite-coated sandstones. And the occasional mica.

I'm crazy about stones since little. One time I tried to chisel up a paved road because the small particles of quartz that lits up when the sun's shining over them. Another time I almost get buried alive when collecting the same quartz shards from a construction site. Another time I went upstream of the very same river to get bigger and clearer quartz after my gramps said they're supposedly easier to found after heavy rain.

Keep in mind that at that time I was like, 5. Cue massive panic attack to my parents each time I went to pick up stones....
