I always presume that the kanmusu also hold ranks within their respective navies and thus, when it comes to meetings or other military-but-not-kanmusu things, they have to follow the rules n regulations and wearing uniforms like everyone else.

Kanmusu aren't individual members of a military, but entire ships, so their ranks are effectively their class. Whether an Aircraft Carrier outranks a Battleship depends on who you ask, though.

And their uniforms are their class uniforms. Fubuki's seifuku is her uniform, and Kongou's miko outfit is hers.

Uhh based on what? Every single deception of them in offical media shows them as individuals, shows some being in charge or more experienced, and implies some form of chain of command.

So all 150+ DD are exactly the same rank under this system despite varying experience, capabilities, and specializations then? This is before we even get into the issue that for purposes of clerical work and military bookkeeping purposes they would all really need some form of rank. The only way to maybe wiggle out of this would be say they're some form of government contracted PMC, but that's never really implied anywhere.

The lack of a consistent uniform does not automatically imply lack of a military hierarchy. One can look at the laxed grooming and dress standards of many Special forces units as an example. It's also not like people in the military have one set of clothes, there are several different uniforms for varying duties or levels of formality and even if you assume that they're allowed to wear more or less what they want as a "BDU" that doesn't rule out wearing other more offical attire for other functions.

Secretary ship is a temporary rank which confers ultimate authority over everyone. Nameships are higher ranked than their sisters. Ships which 'accomplishments' such as Yukikaze are higher ranked than their sisters. Ship classes whose capability is greater than others are higher ranked, but that's a weak factor.

My point is, it's not a military system in the official lore. There's no evidence of a rigid hierarchy... it's more egalitarian. No one addresses anyone else by rank, but a hierarchy exists.

Yes, in a military situation, different uniforms for different events. Point me out one situation in official depictions in which Kanmusu acquire some form of Dress Whites or Formal Attire or what have you. It doesn't exist.

Pretty much this. Also if you check out all the "Official" media, you will see it's really just alternate stories told by different writers ala "Different worlds" method as Employed by DC and Marvel.

Sendai is a lolicon in Ganbere Fubuki-chan but she is not in the Anime version or in the Audio dramas.

It's been said before, but Kadokawa never ment for Kancolle to be the big success it was, which explains the inconsistant characters since they have over 20+ artists drawing the girls. And now that it did become a success(enough to make an anime) they actually are not following up on it.

IMO the longer they wait, the worst it gets and I believe an entire rework or a reboot is in order cause it's simply too hard to salvage what mishmash of setting they have.

I actually knew this, but I was so confident in the uselessness of 'official' lore that there was no reason not to say that.

Bottom line, though, you're right: reboot Kancolle.

But the different telling of Kancolle is one of its seling point (both doujin & official).
If we just make an official solid hierarchy for every individual (lets said "every" Yuudachi have one of the best rank for DD), Kancolle story will be boring.

For me its better that Kagerou in fubuki Ganbarimasu is different with Kagerou in Kagerou, Batsubyou Shimasu!. If we establish "Official" story for kancolle, it will have better setting, but in doujin viewpoint, it will harder to "orginal" admiral to take place.

Well I would like to see if KDKW would expand Kanmusu as a "Human", but please don't take the liberty of writer to set their own world. I would like to see if they make the template for the military hierachy, but please don't define the whose in the hierarchy itself.
