    人用には作ってないので、あんまりもりもり食べるもんじゃないですね。
    ひとかけらだけ食べてみました。

    シリーズにするほどネタはないので、奈良編は明日で終わりです。

    Hang in There, Kogasa-san 1962

They're not made for human consumption, so they're not something one eats with much gusto. I just tried a small piece of one.

There wasn't enough gag fodder to make a storyline, so the Nara chapter ends tomorrow.

Ahh Nara (i'm assuming, as this comment is pre-translation) Deer, you are all so greedy. Went there last year, and the lady who sold me the deer senbei said "don't stop moving" when she hadned them over. The deer were after me pretty much the second I got handed the things (I'm amazed Kogasauthor even managed to take a bite before being headbutted), one of them even bit me. They all lost interest in me as soon as I ran out of biscuits though. After that, without food in hand, they were all nice and friendly.

I can vouch for the Nara deer behavior. They're pleasant, if a bit aloof, as long as you're not holding food. They don't mind you approaching, but don't exactly come up to you. Once you buy deer crackers, though, all bets are off.

Reader-added tags include "Just out of curiosity", "So you've finally fallen this far, Kogasa-san", and "Caved!!!!" (in English).

The series says, "I want to f*** you like an animal," which of course means:

Which do you want to try feeding?
    • Cats
    • Crows
    • Wolves
    • Foxes
    • Wakasagi (Pond smelt)

    Two things:

    1) food is serious business, so competing with a deer for food is the fastest way to find out how much Disney's Bambi lied to you.

    2) I'm so glad to see that the western and Japanese Touhou fans share the caved meme.

I was under the impression that the "Caved" meme began in Japan, stemming from the use of 掘る (horu, to burrow/excavate) as a slang term for homosexual intercourse. That would make it just one more Touhou meme that started in Japan and was picked up elsewhere. So, I'd say it's no more unusual that western fans would share that meme than, say, the "Hourai NEET" one.

The most dangerous thing I imagine might be in them is too much fiber. They may not be particularly nutritious, but they're very probably not toxic.

You're right about that. I'm just glad they don't have all our memes.

They may not be lethal, but I wouldn't eat them. I guess Mizuki-sensei has been more infected by Yuyuko than he might be comfortable admitting.

Or he really wants to be run down and trampled by a herd of deer so he has material for the comic.

Not only is it not the first time he's been CAVED by animals, it's not the first time he's been harassed by deer for food either.
