I once had a young nurse in training fumble with an IV needle for some time, producing failed attempts, and she was very stressed about it. The head nurse asked me if she should take over, but I told the novice can continue. Alas, she was quite flat, offering little to look at as a distraction.
Yeah, I can't appreciate this one. I've never exactly been good with needles, but I had someone who couldn't find a vein after three or four jabs, then tried the other arm, and then I started having arterial spray all over the doctor's office. I still get shivers. Of course, like most nurses, she wasn't exactly nice about it, and yelled at me for clenching my fist too much. (Young, attractive, sweet nurses that care about your wellbeing are a myth, every nurse I've ever met is a 50-year-old chainsmoker who either has seen too much shit to emapthize with anything anymore or never could empathize with anything to begin with. They don't care if they hurt or manhandle you because as long as there's at least one person on the planet suffering more than you, it's not worth worrying about.)

Thank GOD the nurses I had was alot nicer then yours. I even have an aunt who's a nurse and she's super nice. Maybe you weren't so lucky...
