Weren't they there for an event? Maybe QB is just going along to the airport with his friends so he can catch is own flight later.

..."QB" and "Friends" don't really feel like they should be in the same sentence.

Ran and Kogasa were there for the convention along with Chen, but Kyubey seemed to have gone separately.
