Warship Lion? There was never a USS Lion, and the HMS Lion of the time was the keel of a canceled battleship. There's a USS Leon that was at Angaur, so it might be a typo（ライオン instead of レイオン).

I loved beating the crap out of japan in battlefield 1942, kid me would always play Americans on pacific maps and Germans on Europe maps. DICE should make another WWII shooter after BF1.

You should try out this mod if you haven't already. Crazy stuff all over the place.

And also, supposedly in the game it says:
"[Player 1] has killed a teammate
[Player 2] has been killed"

Actually, reading the commentary, it says "British Battlecruiser Lion", which seems it might mean a ship that was scrapped in 1922, instead.

Possibly, this is just an alternate history thing due to a mod. Reading up on the actual Battle of Angaur, the only battleship mentioned is the USS Tenessee. Reading up on Tenessee, however, shows that the USS Pennsylvania might have also been there. Neither battleship has a passage mentioning being beached and killing allies, and I would think that sort of thing would be mentioned in between all the times they went places and bombarded islands without any other comment in their wiki pages, so I'm again leaning towards this being a recounting of a stupid thing someone did in a game rather than real history.
