Type 93 SONAR has 6 ASW while the Type 3 SONAR has 10 ASW. So that's a difference of four points and due to how KanColle does ASW stat (ASW from equipment is worth 10x more than ASW stat from the KanMusu) it's actually 40 points of difference between the two. As for large SONAR (not available for DD), the Type 0 has 11 ASW. I think it's fair to leave the translation as-is.
Also you could just equip a Type 93 and a Type 3 Wakaba, there's still a third slot for a Depth Charge if you want the combination bonuses...
