Reminds me of some random modern airplane game I played at a friend's house probably around a decade ago where there was a mission to stop a giant crab walker thing from destroying a set of towers that looked kinda like that. Except we discovered we had infinite lives and if you crashed into the top of buildings they'd collapse. So we started seeing who could "skip" their plane off the most buildings.
Then the two towers bent over revealing a huge laser cannon that blew up the crab thing anyway.
