Don't group the trash with those with a gambling addiction though. Gambling addiction is effing scary, it's as bad as substance addiction for what it puts the sufferer and those around them through.

But it's the gambling addiction that made him trash, though.

Besides, this guy is clearly in the hole way more than 500 yen (about $5 or 4 Euros), so that he makes the logical leap that the only way he's going to pay off his debt, which may well be near a million yen, using 500 yen is to get a big payout from gambling isn't at all a reaction you wouldn't expect out of someone who got that far in the hole to start with thinking they could pay it all back by winning big.
