One time I got so sick I couldn't sleep. I was shivering constantly and vomiting throughout the night, so I was totally restless. I began to have feverish hallucinations about tiny fairy girls coming out of my pillow and building houses on my night stand. I distinctly remember that one, and that afterwards I decided I wasn't really a night person.

I've heard people have very convincing conversations with refrigerators in as little as two days of no sleep, and that after three days of no sleep your cardiovascular health drops dramatically and you actually risk minor brain damage. I can't imagine what it would be like after five!

I think the record is about eleven days, and Guinness stopped taking applications for improvements because of how bad it is for your health.
