    Presumably, by context a lot of times. In that last box, after I managed to figure out the first kanji on the second like was "満", I could figure it was "満潮", or "Michishio". The third line doesn't even look like it, (looks like a circle on a vertical line with a diagonal coming down as well to me...) but it just has to be "待" to make sense.

    Still, I only got "限" by opening up a kanji identification site, and just going through everything with that "B-like" left radical by process of elimination...
