So, in the GuP universe, fully loaded weapons of war are considered perfectly acceptable street legal transportation?

Not only do we see them driving the Pz. IV on public roadway in the series and more notably during the movie, but tanks are street legal in some countries (for instance in the US, not sure about Japan though) albeit not commonly seen.

In fact, Modern Japanese tank (and all of other JSDF vehicles) need to comply with road regulations. That's why you'll find brake lights, turning lights, rear view mirror, etc. on them.

You know, I would definitely give a tank the right of way in every situation. I mean, who is crazy enough to try and cut one off?

I dunno there's definitely some people dumb enough to cut off a tank (they mostly drive the ubiquitous asian cars or an SUV) then get mad when it flattens their shit (if they survive). As far as road transportation I know light tanks can be driven on the roads of Britain but I'm not entirely sure about the US. I'd love to own a tank for no other reason than just having it because it's a tank (an M46 or M48 would be epic).
