Take the light carrier version of Suzuya instead. She would attack the surface ships first and enemy submarines later. Perfect for killing weak surface ships and helping you get a S rank. However, the ASW formation would significantly lower her firepower so you should load her with three torpedo bombers and one spot plane to avoid red T.

It's a waste to use Suzy or Kumano Kai Ni just for mere first map, though. Unless you've made duplicate of them or doing it on easy difficulty, that is. Boss node support is a total waste (due to formation you must use), so I assume this is meant to be the joke.

Bad strategy. It is best to save those 2 for latter maps. Besides I clear E-1 Hard with little problems, I just do support shelling in the boss to reduce the number of unwanted problems

Save some resources or use the support fleet. That's the real choice here, I think. Suzuya and Kumano kai-ni are a good addition to CAVs but that's it. To me their light carrier form has more potential.
