Seconding on the question over trend.

Roki and Rindou's circle did a couple Alice hypno doujins, with accompanying teaser and concept art on pixiv. Roki and Rindou are pretty popular and commonly seen as being really fucking good artists. That led to other good artists liking what they saw and drawing their own hypnotized Alice, often in a similar getup, others saw those artists, repeat a few times and here we are. It helps that this all took place at a time when hypnosis porn was on the rise.

Speaking of these two, after Reitaisai Warugaki was invited to a meet up and apparently those two were there . He also says this manga series came about based on what Rindou taught him.

Just my opinion here. No doubt Roki and Rindou are really good artists, but personally, I feel Rindou’s artstyle fits comedy more than his erotic works. Roki’s artstyle won’t be able to do comedy well but that’s fine.

Another artist which I can think of whose artstyle is better suited for comedy than erotica would be Tsuki wani’s. I think it’s got to do with how innocent and cartoony their artstyle makes the characters look

I think the common opinion is that Rindou's super cartoony, over the top art style is exactly what makes it work so well in porn. Everything's so intense and exaggerated that you can do draw the girls doing whatever you want. Wouldn't get Rindou-level aheagos out of a more realistic art style, that's for sure.
It's exactly why he goes so well with Roki. One's intense, but more realistic and...I dunno, higher quality? Not sure how to put that. The other's also intense but the exact opposite. They're a real dynamic duo.
Now if only it wasn't 100% unbroken hypnosis all the time...
