You gotta give Zounose some credit tho´. Yokai acting somewhat like Yokai rather than Dating Sim Selections as most of the fanbase would have you believe. It is a little creepy but refreshing at times not to mention a throwback to the roots of their myth.

Probably not, i doubt she would replace her hair ornaments considering the significance of them breaking. The hissy fit she threw during that doujin wasn't about the "eating" of human per se. It was the fact that said human was alive, a child, and to be sacrificed in an official ceremony that everyone went along with which rightfully disgusted her.

It's not too farfetched to think of scenarios along the lines of "1. youkai eat humans 2. youkai are allowed to attack, but not eat village humans 3. so what are they eating?"

You're doing exactly what I'm complaining about. You're assuming that because humans do get eaten once in a while, Zounose's grimderp fantaisies about canneries or sacrifices are no less than some edgy fanfic.
Again : I'm not saying Gensokyo is all rainbow, hugs, gumdrops, ice creams, and dry anal sex. I'm saying that Zounose is exagerrating how dark it is for the sake of his own fetishes, and he has fans who, for some obscure reason, think of his work as somehow closer to the Touhou canon compared to other artists. Which is false, because, again, Zounose exagerrate how grim and dark Gensokyo is. There's no cannibalism, the gods don't accept human sacrifices, Byakuren doesn't grind babies into fertilizers, there's no kappa cannery, and whoever think it's canon or even remotely based on Touhou is just a fucking retard looking for grimderp material to masturbate himself over like it's some kind of emo skyblog.

It's probably a more realistic depiction really, after all we have to considered why they're all hiding in their little club house to start with, and even if you want to say stuff changed in the last few decades or whatever allot of the yokai characters are hundreds of years old. It's a near certainty the older ones are all serial killers by our definitions (in canon as well).
Basically by definition everyone of those would be considered monstrously sociopath by human standards. Serial killers can often be polite and charming too, but they're still horrifically twisted individuals by any normal human reckoning with often truly alien thought processes. That might actually be a good to think about the entire place, it's a land populated by super natural serial killers. Some of them are mad dogs that will slaughter anything, others have pretense toward class, or may even only target those that 'deserve it', but they're all still murders.
