    Hang in There, Kogasa-san 2744

I contacted Sanae-san and had her tell me the serial number, connected to the net and verified...and so it took some time, and I think I'd have been better off taking a break after all. (^^;)

At worst, I'd have redrawn it.

    ■ June 13 postscript:
I've had a relapse of ureteral stones, and I'm currently writhing in pain and nausea, so my sincerest apologies, but I'll be taking a break from the strips until it settles down.

This time off could become a habit. (^^;)

Pixiv has revamped its look again, and now all tags are prefaced with a # instead of author-added tags being designated by a *. Until/unless this is changed, I'll have to guess which tags are reader-added. Luckily, phrasing should make most of them obvious. For instance, today we have "Touhou", "Hang in There, Kogasa-san", "Mizuki Hitoshi", "Tatara Kogasa", "Yakumo Ran", "I understand", and "Sanae-san's miracle power". It's pretty easy to tell which tags are reader-added. Other instances, like the time Mizuki-san forgot to tag one of the characters and a reader added the tag instead, will be trickier.

Click the "+" to edit the tags. The ones added by the artist have padlocks by them

Aha! Thanks. Since I had no reason to edit the tags, I didn't even bother clicking on the "+".

    No update, 20 minutes late.

Did the above thing happen again? If so, he's really milking it for all it's worth. ;)

Edit - the stone has returned...

Well, that explains the delay. Here's hoping he gets better soon. At least they know how to treat them, so the process should be achieved more quickly this time. Hopefully he'll also remember to collect the expelled stone for the hospital.

He keeps saying he'll avoid inviting Koishi back into his UT, and yet...

Koishi doesn't get invited, she just shows up.

But he said he wouldn't let her back in!

If guess he eats too much to watch what he's eating. Sanae is going to have a field day with that.

    Condensed updates from Twitter:

He went to the hospital, but there was no attending physician present, so they took a CT scan, gave him a painkiller IV drip, and apparently sent him back home to return later.

He had to spend the night hugging a pillow to get some sleep, as that position alleviated the pain. He would also shake his hips some to try and dislodge the stone. He strongly denies he was pillow-masturbating. :-)

No sign of the stone-collector cup that Hitori-san got for his treatment, at least so far. Keeping up his fluid levels is difficult due to nausea, though.

Sanae-san had to play the role of Udonge, too—i.e., his wife had to give him a suppository. It relieved his pain enough that he was considering drawing a strip, but he couldn't do more than the storyboards/layout before it came back.

The pain's been coming and going, so he still needs some treatment. The nurses have done a lot for him, but he's wondering if he should have changed hospitals. He's feeling some relief, but he's been passing some blood in his urine. No word yet on the CT scan results, so perhaps treatment will progress more once those are in.

At least he's well enough to Tweet regularly.

    ...

He'll never live it down. Three times, after the first time he said would be 5he last.

Here's hoping the blood in the urine isn't something more serious.

He owned up to the second occurrence in the same storyline as he described the first, so I'm sure he's used to not living down that line by now. :-)

As for the blood, it happened to him the first time too. I think it's just an unfortunate part of the process.

More brief updates: He's still in pain and having bouts of nausea, though he managed to stop the latter with a self-taught exorcism (as he puts it), so yay for placebo effect. He's getting some sleep, at least. For now, his treatment is drinking lots of water and getting more suppository medicine as necessary, it seems.

I figured as much after the usual time. The umbrella broke herself, looks like. And the lack of a buffer didn't stop her from getting nailed by Koishi again, alas.

And the blood the first time was after the stone got shattered. No such treatment thus time, unless he didn't mention it.

Another update: After about an hour in the hospital waiting room, he had a urinalysis done and passed at least part of the stone. It seemed a bit small, and he was still feeling pain, so there's a chance it fragmented inside him. (He got some photos, but figured it was best not to make them public. :-) )

After waiting about an hour and a half, he was told "We're full up on appointments, so please go home and come back again later." However, since all he could do at home is sleep, he was considering napping in the parking lot. He regrets not bringing his PC.

He's been to this hospital three times and not had a good experience once. However, it's the only place near his home that can treat stones like this. There might be one other viable place, so he might go there next time.

His left side started hurting, and he wondered if he has a second stone.

Also, despite being hungry, he was loath to leave the parking lot, as it was so packed he might not get a space upon returning. He finally got some soba for lunch, but it's so sweet, it was actually hard to eat. :-)

Koishi 2 - Koishi and Friends.

... that's one very... unique hospital.

One thing that might help him is taking a screenshot. You can't save the file, to reedit later, but you should be able to take a screenshot of it?

I recall him indicating in his Tweets that that wasn't an option for some reason.

I can't even put it in Sleep mode, as I might carelessly touch Shut Down, so I've just kept it running...
Since I had the free time.
There is that chance the picture will vanish before you do verification, huh...
    Gamble
    Huh!?
    Arriving in Kaohsiung...
    Well, that's a disaster.
You couldn't draw today's strip, you say?
Actually, I was already able to finish it on the plane.
I still haven't input the serial number, so I can't save it.
    It's a no-save image.
    Okay, then why!?
    I see...
