    組み立てマニュアルの文字は本当に小さかったです。

    ぼくは何かを組み立てるのがすごく好きなのですが、完成してしまうと興味をなくしてしまうという、そんな性格です(笑)
    3Dプリンターやレーザー加工機は、組み立てるものを作れるので楽しいですね!

    1号機はフリーマーケットで超格安で売ってしまいました(^^;)

    Hang in There, Kogasa-san 2918

The printing in the assembly manual really was tiny.

I'm one of those types who really loves assembling stuff, but then ends up losing interest once it's complete. :-) The 3D printer and laser processor are fun because you can make stuff to assemble!

I ended up selling my machine #1 at a flea market for super-cheap. (^^;)

Reader-added tags include "Hard-to-read manual", "Magnifying glass: 'Does not compute'", and "It's too small, and I can't read it!!"

I'd considered, but the katakana version could mean either, and I thought it meant he simply offered it for sale in an open market online, as opposed to opening up a flea market stall. Then again, perhaps flea markets in Japan work a bit differently than they do here.

    How so? I'm genuinely curious

I have no idea; I'm just speculating, thus my use of "perhaps".

Turns out wikipedia has this to say.
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flea_market

As depicted in the photo below, there are flea markets in Japan. However, because the words "flea" and "free" are transcribed in the same Japanese katakana phonetic letters, they have mistaken them and started to use "free market" instead of "flea market."

So, you're right it's "free" market though it's actually meant flea.

So technically speaking, either translation would be correct, though the base intended meaning is "flea market". Well, that'll teach me to check the obvious, I guess. I didn't even consider that the Wikipedia article would cover Japanese usage of the term.
