    Hang in There, Kogasa-san 2946

This won't be enough for a whole storyline, just a brief tale from days of yore! :-)

Reader-added tags include "Refrigerator myths", "It rots even in the fridge", and "Some of them ripen, depending".

... How coddled was Kogasa to think that?

More that he seems to be from farmland and had only non-refrigerated foods before.

What? How old fashioned is/was rural Japan actually? Or how old is he? I mean, where I live, a freezer and a fridge has been basic-level common household items for more than half a century now.

It's also possible that he never did any cooking back home so never learned the basics of food storage and handling.

One day my wife randomly said, TELL ME A STORY!

The best I could come up with was: this one time my beef went bad.

    That's putting it really roughly...
The beef in the fridge has gone bad!
    What the hey!?
    ...is what I thought.
"Here's a story from when I first came to Tokyo."
    The Wrong Idea
    One day of one month...
I'm bored. Tell me a story!
How long had it been in there?
    A few months, I guess...
You mean food in the fridge doesn't stay fresh foreverrr!?
    No waaay!
