    Hang in There, Kogasa-san 2953

It bothered me that that room on the second floor was even cheaper, when I moved in, I didn't want to carry my heavy luggage up the narrow outside stairway, so I went for the first floor. It even had a yard! I lived there for four years!

I went back to see those apartments for the first time in ages, by the way, and they'd been rebuilt.

Reader-added tags include "A room that's no problem for a youkai", "Stigmatized property", and "No, that's not what I wanted".

The verb used is torokeru (蕩ける), meaning "melt" (there are other words more specifically translated as "liquefy"), though I suppose it's a viable synonym.

    Raining people-juice inside?

    Well could be worse.

Not much. It COULD get worse, arguably, but not much.

This happens more often than you think. I hear this story so often where a stain start to form in the ceiling before people realize the person living above them died and no one came to visit so the corpse had plenty time to rot and decompose.

To answer Sanae, because it likely made the place far cheaper as compared to a similar property that someone hasn't died in.

In these trying times, principles won't take you anywhere. If he didn't do it, there would be a dozen poor students more than willing to take his place.

    Student times never change.

Well people die all the time, and statistically some of those deaths are going to be in apartments.

... I'm just glad I live on the top floor of my building.

Depending on the climate and A/C the decomp can happen in under a week. No clue about how long it would take migrate through the floor and ceiling.

True, I had a friend in Sapporo who got an apartment for less than the average value because the previous tenant had committed suicide in it.

Could be multiple people killed in ways straight out of a horror or spyflick.

    What the hell!?

Okay, to finish this off, here's a heavy story I've been saving up.
"The stain rapidly spread, until finally..."
What could you have that's heavier than that other one...?
    Hm?
    Because It Was Cheap
    God, that stinks!!
    Plup
"This one's about the people who lived in that room before I did, but..."
    Was that stain there before?
Why the heck did you even move into a place like that!?
The person on the floor above had died, and then liquefied in the summer heat—
