"To monk" by the way, is fishing lingo that means "to catch nothing". Bouzu (normally 坊主, Buddhist priest/monk) or o'deko (お凸, forehead), are both used that way, as both imply "no hair", thus "no fish".
I got Mama-gasa to salt-grill the gizzard shad I caught in yesterday's strip, but it was so full of little bones that it was tough to eat. It was still yummy, though. (^^;)
