    PRACE YOUR BETS NAO!
Obviously Ichiban/Zekamashi, and the second is either Aoba/Suzuya or Tenryuu/Nagamon.

Ugh, really? ...I have to agree with the poster who was complaining about how unfun these parts are. Not only do they always consist of the same characters stomping everyone else, but it basically spits on the very premise of these training arcs (that Reiji's hilariously brutal training is making them 'better' and more likely to survive).

It's almost always the exact same characters getting shat on, and almost always because they either make very dumb mistakes (showing that Reiji's boot camps from hell aren't working), or because the author's obvious favorites stomp the hell out of them in completely one-sided and uninteresting 'fights'.

We have already seen multiple teams being made to look like jokes in this arc by the author's pet OC (and she stomps them so one-sidedly that even the author doesn't bother actually showing the fights), and now we have the author's favorite canon character stomping two teams off-panel while carrying a teammate who has consistently been shown to be 'not that good' (so people speculating that the strong characters teamed up with weak characters would be handicapped were way off).

Literally what is the point of having such a large cast if only a fraction of them are ever allowed to show they have improved, often at the expense of the rest of the cast being humiliated by them?

I think I finally have figured out what's been bugging me for most of this story. With the exception of their fight with Hayase/Re-Class, they haven't actually fought any real antagonists who were a threat.

The regular Abyssals are a joke. Literally. Every time we see them it's to show them getting stomped.

The corrupt military that's been gunning for Reiji, for all the gravitas placed on this plotline, has been treated like a joke (we see his ally from the other base torturing one of them with impunity while Reiji almost casually avoids an assassination attempt in an earlier arc).

Except for the fight against Hayase, their only consistent 'challenge' has been training, where a select few characters always win with ease. This series lacks a genuine 'conflict', especially now that Hibiki has gotten Reiji to open up emotionally (so no more romantic conflict, or at least said conflict has died down tremendously). So, we see the girls getting "death-proofed"... and the only threat to have actually come close to killing any of them is now their ally and currently stomping them in a training exercise.

Now then... let's get to exchanging information while we're still safe. You first, but no lies okay?
...Assuming your scout plane is smoke, we've confirmed two of them were downed just a moment ago. So all that's left is Souryuu's one.
    SHIT.
One of the hunters was heading to the lighthouse. It was Hayase, so the Admiral must be supporting from the back.
...That SOB was sniping like a professional. He's never revealed it to us so I overlooked that possibility.
Team Yuubari was picked off by Akebono's team at the lighthouse... whom we took care of, so we're down to 10 teams now.
    AHH...
Oh, so you shot down the lighthouse duo? Not bad.
    Huh?
But you're wrong, there're only 8 teams left.
    Ah... Team DevilHibiki it is.
We just saw two couples of morons marvelously dive head-first into the Devil's trap.
Oh yeah, Souryuu's already been taken out yesterday. So that means we won't see any planes in the sky.
