    Hang in There, Kogasa-san 3090

Numerous questions sprang up, such as when the place was built and which supplier chose this. Even connected to the wireless LAN, it was slow and useless, so I ultimately ended up using my own line.

There's loads of places where the hotel's wireless LAN is slow and you can't rely on it, aren't there. (^^;)

The only reader-added tag as of now is "Standardized to 1984".

I'm gonna say, I would rather have an inferior universal connector than a plethora of competing types.

Heh, coaxial cable based network. That is a long time ago. And yet I never saw a joke referencing Arnold Schwarzenegger on them. It was funny how you could kill the entire network removing that piece.

KogasAuthor's been finding plenty of ancient electronics lately. I'd almost say he's going out of his way to find it, but I suspect it's more a commentary upon Japan's unwillingness to keep up to date with technology outside its urban hubs.

It says "mid- to late-80s", but I was using them in the late 90s (which is a much more likely time for a hotel to have been installing internet). Definitely long obsolete now, though...

I worked once on a high school computer lab and it was wired with them, the year: 2003. That was the first and last time I learned about such networks.

Next thing she'll do is to hunt for an RJ45-BNC adapter, just because.

One day of one month, at a tour destination hotel...
    Okay, my strip's complete.
    Guess I'll prep for uploading.
Good thing they've got a wired connection.
There is a wired internet connector under the desk.
