Dunno about you, but somehow this kick looks unrealistic and/or uncomfortable. I mean, the woman's torso is turned more than 90 degrees away from the target, and still her leg is supposed stretch across AND connect?

I would have thought that her body should at least face the opponent, or perhaps have turned 90 degrees counter-clockwise from forward.

There are more pressing issues to discuss, like how Shinji is actually able to block a kick and not just stand there defenseless.

Maybe the artist decided to pile up on the ridiculous?

The length of the leg makes it clear that the artist's sense of anatomy is off already.

Nevertheless, her torso could be counter-turned to negate the excess momentum in the kick. I've seen women's bodies move that way IRL.

This isn't Maya. This is Kaede, one of the three MAGI technicians who originated from the Shinji Ikari Raising Project game. She's in charge of Balthazar, and also (like many of the other NERV staff) teaches one of Shinji's various training classes on occasion (though for the life of me I can't recall the name of the course at the moment.)

This is one of the scenes that can be triggered when you have Shinji go do that training (when his affection with Kaede has risen to the appropriate level.) I don't understand moonrunes well enough to tell you exactly what transpires in the scene itself, though. Sorry.

Also: For what it's worth, I personally think she looks something like what would happen if Yui and Maya were to have a lovechild. (especially in the other images of her.)
