What are Ido's shipgirls, exactly? One of Iowa's lines referred to them as warships reborn with human bodies and souls, but Gangut was a human girl during the Imperial era? Jervis had to pass an aptitude exam before being deployed for combat? And there can be multiple copies of each ship that all look identical? What's going on?

Gangut was built in the Imperial Era, as for Jervis perhaps they still train them before deployment anyways like they do in the anime.
