    Hang in There, Kogasa-san 3472

The internet had only just been opened to the private sector, so I didn't know what was what. I could apparently be connected even with 7.5.2., but I had to get this MacTCP thing from somewhere, which was a royal pain. You could even get browsers from bonus CD-ROMs in magazines, and I feel like those contained the aforementioned tool. I've forgotten all the little details, of course. (^^;)

Cold War had ended, and the internet was opened for the general public.

It was corridor of eras, like so it is now.

Anyway, thank you for the great work as always, moonspeaker!

Reader-added tags include "Space language", "Em-ess-doss", and "And so we get to now".

I remember Mosaic being the first graphical web browser back when we used FreeBSD based systems to browse using text links....

Emacs and Lynx are how u started.

Only got internet a little later than that. It was an era of prepaid internet cards. Without relatively high speed internet, all that mattered was how many hours an internet card gave you. Best one was a buy one take one deal, which was around 8-12 hours per card, so you got two cards for the price of one.

Even then, the postpaid one which we had because it was from the company my parents worked in, internet hours was limited and speed was no better, so cards was the way to go since I'd get scolded if I used up the postpaid internet time.

To be fair, most highways these days are basically as clogged up due to getting more traffic than they were designed for. And the more capacity you add, the more traffic expands to choke it out.

You don't have a home page or anything on the internet, Kogasa-san?
What the heck is the internet?
    Ah, I get it.
That's right, they were talking about that before in a relay from the Diet. So that's what they meant.
