    Hang in There, Kogasa-san 3517

These days, it feels like understanding of what fanzine conventions are about has spread, but at the time, the general sense seemed to be, "I can't understand why you'd sell books or open a shop even though you don't make a profit." Of course, there were also some people who were profiting like crazy, though. Enough of them that you got some who committed tax evasion. (^^;)

Reader-added tags include "The artist wants to increase the spread of their preferences, so what's the big deal?", "Understand the meaning of 'fanzine'", and "Tax office: 'Incomprensible.'"

Welp, people are ready to pay for entertainment.
And for some people this entertainment takes a kind of commercial form where they just enjoy selling the stuff they enjoyed making without the intent of enjoying profits.
Same "pay for entertainment" thing, it's just the price is in the shape of negative balance.

    Well, I'm not doing it...
with the intent of making a profit...
    A Silly Question
    We understand.
I'd be happy if I did profit, though...
By the way, Ms. Tatara, it seems you do fanzines as well.
    Here it comes!
This was their real reason, I bet.
Why would you sell books if you're not going to make a profit?
As far as we can see from your final tax return, nearly all of these seem to run at a loss...
Well, that's actually the truth of it...
