Don't worry, in the end the supposed "bad guys" just get defeated. Like, poof and they are gone. There is no gameplay or any other story explaination, just that they are all eventually gone in some shitty epilogue text. Yeah, that's how fucking stupid her story was. We're just told TWSiTD just magically all vanished and everything becomes unicorns and puppies and rainbow fucking lucky charms. Edelgard's route was pure trash.

That was because the devs were rushed. Her route wasnt pure trash, the ending was just bullshit. They either should have taken another 3 months and added in 2-3 more maps for her where you deal with them in game, or hell make a third faction show up during the final level and make it a 3 way fight between serios, you, and twsitd

Keep your friends close and enemies closer. They were nothing but tools for her she fully planned to dispose of once she used their power to dethrone the psychotic dragon demi god that had been lying to the world too.

Agreed, was clearly an unfinished route. The shortest route of all, by a fair margin despite foreshadowing that which didn't come to be.
