Sad that people harassed the artists into deleting this

I can see why people would be offended by this illustration specifically (the other one is fine imo, her skin is still dark), her skin is admittedly quite light here. However, you could argue the artist was going for a more minimalistic colouring style so the turquoise in the hair could pop out more. Since she has drawn Nessa with dark skin in the past , I don't think there was any intention of whitewashing.
I think her art is lovely and unique, this piece is no exception. It's depressing that she had to go through this, and now has to live in fear of the goddamn outrage mob :/ I just hope this doesn't discourage her from making more art

I seriously don't understand what people hope to achieve when they go on art outrages like these. Regardless of whether it's these skin tone BS, cultural appropriation, feminism or wtv. It's as if they don't actually want to put any efforts into actually helping the people that are struggling real problems, so they have to make any other easy targets(people who they know can't retaliate) the "bad guys" so they can feel like they're the "good guys".

If the artist has no racist intent behind it, wouldn't the one who insist on cramming racist/sexist context into literally everything be themselves racist/sexist or at the very least, act very counterproductive to any actual attempts for an actual colorblind, gender equal society?

Because they don't. None of them care about real people. They don't care about real abused children, oppressed minorities, or anything. They're coddled hypocrites that make double standard rules for everyone but themselves to follow, so that they can act morally superior and feel like they've accomplished something with their wasted time, while being bigger racists/sexists/transphobes than the people they attack.

Literally who gives a shit? Did I say anything that defends the anime community? Did I even so much as mention them? I don't care what the anime community is doing or has done, that's not who we're talking about right now.
