Is there any chance the kid admiral wrote a "come home" letter without it being intercepted by his dad? Because Murakumo's face in panel 3 (unless I'm just taking this too seriously for the sake of drama) tells me whatever is in that letter is far bigger than merely a "come home".

Isekaijin means the letter the kidmiral got telling him to come home.

I feel like a complete idiot now. When I finally noticed the "come home" letter in panel 2, I thought it was an entirely different letter and Murakumo's reaction to it wasn't the letter telling the kid admiral to come home. I just thought it was a "I am resigning from the base but I'm not allowed to tell you why" letter hence Murakumo saying "idiot" in the last panel.

But honestly, what could she do? its not like she can get the rest of the girls and rescue kid admiral no?

Is it just me or are the first two panels a bit more on the gray side?

Probably intentional. Murakumo's basically been going through the motions ever since the Kidmiral left the base. It wouldn't be strange for her to see everything as dreary and lifeless.

I HOPE they figure out that the kid needs to be saved, gather up the ship girls and storm the other base.
